I am a psychoanalyst and clinical social worker in private practice in Denver, CO. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Religion, Philosophy, and Gender Studies from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD, and my Master of Social Work from the University of Iowa. I am a graduate of the Adult Psychoanalytic Program at the Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis, a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work and Psychoanalysis from the American Board of Clinical Social Work, and a Fellow of the American Board of Psychoanalysis.

I am on the faculty of the Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis and the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. In addition, I am on the faculty of the Sue Fairbanks Psychoanalytic Academy through the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. From 2014-2018 I was the Director of Adult Intensive Services at Aurora Mental Health Center.

I am the immediate Past President of the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work, as well as their Colorado Area Representative. I am a Past President of the Colorado Society for Clinical Social Work, a past Board Member for the State of Colorado Board of Social Work Examiners, and a past Board Member for the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative.

In October 2023 I delivered the Sue Fairbanks Lecture for Excellence in the Application of Psychoanalytic Knowledge in Social Work with an expanded version of my paper, This Couch Has Bed Bugs: On the Psychoanalysis of Homelessness and the Homelessness of Psychoanalysis.

I was the 2024 recipient of the Ernst and Gertrude Ticho Memorial Award from the American Psychoanalytic Association, for which I presented my paper, Porosity and Preoccupation: Queer Thoughts on Psychoanalytic Care at the annual Ticho Memorial Lecture.
